Maryland Fall Family Photos

Fall is a favorite time of year for family photography sessions. The biggest reason are the gorgeous fall colors. Fall is also a time when temperatures are milder, cool and crisp, and are more comfortable for everyone to enjoy. Another reason fall is so popular is that families are getting ready for the holiday season. Fall is the perfect time to get an updated photo of the family to use with holiday cards and holiday gifts.

Working with this family was so much fun, it was such a treat to work with identical twins. While they look alike, they had unique personalities that were sweet to document; especially with their mom. I always get plenty of photographs of mom and her babies. Moms are usually the family photographer and are never in pictures, so that’s where I come in to help.

Even though mom get’s plenty of camera time, we never forget dad. So we made sure to document moments between dad and his boys.

We also documented sweet moments between the entire family. While we try to make sure to get at least one photograph with everyone looking at the camera, the best part is documenting candid family moments.

Last but not least, I always try to get photos of just the kids together. And then I always try to get a few minutes with just mom and dad alone. Most tines, the last time mom and dad had formal photographs was during their wedding! So it’s important to make the time to document where the love began.

Fall is a wonderful time for family photos, but don’t forget that fall is a popular time for family photography. Make sure you book your session early if you want first choice on dates. Make sure to contact your photographer a few months in advance to make sure you get to document family memories during a wonderful time of the year.
